How to Configure a DEC EtherWORKS II Turbo NIC

The DEC EtherWORKS II Turbo NICs are half-size 16-bit ISA cards based on the AMD 7990 LANCE Ethernet Controller. They come in 3 variants:

DE200 had 10base5 (Thickwire 15-pin AUI) and 10base2 (Thinwire BNC) connectors
DE201 had a 10baseT (RJ45 UTP) connecter
DE202 had 10base2 (Thinwire BNC) and 10baseT (RJ45 UTP) connectors

The DE200 and DE202 both have a DIP shunt which controls which connector will be used for the Ethernet connection. Each of the boards has a 12 pin DIP switch which has the same meaning for all EtherWORKS II Turbo NICs. The rest of this page documents those switch settings.

Default Settings

The default settings for the EtherWORKS II Turbo NICs are:

64KB Memory Window from D0000 to DFFFF
16 I/O Ports from 300 to 30F hex
Interrupts on IRQ5
Remote Boot Disabled
Remote Boot Timeout of 30 Seconds

With these settings, the 12 pin DIP switch looks like:
